Metro Jets Newsletter – March 2019
Hi Jetsetters
A big welcome to 2019 and what a way to be finishing off the summer season, with so many Jets teams making the City Night finals.
Congratulations to the following teams on making it through to the Grand Final:
- Inter 3 – Tuesday 7pm (Court 3)
- Junior 6 – Friday 8:30pm (Court 15)
- Sub Junior 5 (Red) – Friday 7:30pm (Court 10)
We hope to see lots of Jets support at the Grand Finals this coming week and we wish our teams and their Coaches the very best of luck.
A special mention also goes to our Semi Finalists for their awesome effort throughout the season as well:
- Senior C1
- Inter 1
- Junior 2
- Junior 5
- Sub Junior 5 (Blue)
In a few weeks’ time our winter season will officially start, with Club training commencing at Priceline Stadium on Tuesday the 2nd of April.
On behalf of the Committee, I would like to welcome the new families and players who have joined Jets for Winter 2019, and welcome back to all our existing Club girls and families as well.
I’d also like to welcome back our previous Coaches and new Coaches to the Club for Winter 2019. Thank you for volunteering your time and efforts towards the development of our girls.

- Sub Junior 3 – Ashleigh Knighton
- Primary 3 – Nikki Dyer
Each year Metro Jets have a number of Club events taking place, and we are always looking for more volunteers to assist. The first Major Event for 2019 is our Club BBQ Day at Priceline Stadium on Saturday the 25th of May. This is a Major fundraising event for the Club, we will need donations for raffles, baked goods for sale, and BBQ assistance throughout the day, so any spare time you can offer to assist would be much appreciated. Lastly, a big thank you to all the businesses and families, who have sponsored, or are continuing to sponsor Metro Jets in 2019. The Club is working very hard to promote the development of our players, Coaches and Officials at all levels and age groups, and we could not do this without your support. We encourage all our members to get behind these businesses where possible; our sponsors are advertised on the Club Website, through newsletters and via our social media avenues. PREMIER LEAGUE
Well as another pre season slips quickly by we have come to the stage where we have trimmed our squad to the final twenty players, congratulations to you all. I would also like to congratulate the balance of the original squad who trained hard over the journey and did themselves and the club proud and with such a deep squad to select from our AMND and A1 will be extremely strong.
The final twenty players selected are:
Over the weekend these players participated in the pre season cup where the coaches were able to mix and match a variety of players and positions enabling us to understand firstly where the squad was at and secondly how they performed individually and as a team. With several weeks to go before our first game on May 17th where we hope you all will be to support us we know this year will be tough on our journey to the top four.
